Opening
We Don't Talk About Fear
Enough in the Church.
We perform strength instead of admitting struggle.
Today — we start with honesty.
"Honesty is the doorway to healing."
Psalm 34 : 4
"I sought the Lord, and He answered me
and rescued me from all my fears."
Our Anchor for the Entire Series
Fear Is Not a
Faith Failure.
  • Fear is a human experience — not a spiritual deficiency
  • Moses, Elijah, David, Peter, Paul — all were afraid
  • If fear disqualified people, the Bible would be a very short book
  • God doesn't call the fearless — He calls the faithful who act despite fear
  • Silence about fear is the enemy — not the fear itself
Elijah Under the
Broom Tree
1 Kings 19 : 3–5 "Elijah became afraid and immediately ran for his life… He sat down under a broom tree and prayed that he might die. He said, 'I have had enough! Lord, take my life.' Then he lay down and slept. Suddenly, an angel touched him and said, 'Get up and eat.'"
  • God didn't rebuke Elijah for his fear — He sent an angel with bread
  • Your fear does not disqualify you — it invites His care
Point Two
"Fear Not" Is Always Followed
by a Promise.
Fear not for I am with you.
Fear not for I have redeemed you.
Fear not for it is your Father's good pleasure.
Fear not for I am the First and the Last.
The command is always anchored in a covenant promise.

Point Two Continued
"Fear Not" Appears Over 300 Times
in Scripture.
This is not coincidence — it is divine design.
God knew we would need this reminder constantly.
GOD'S MOST REPEATED COMMAND IS: FEAR NOT.
Isaiah 41 : 10
"Do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be afraid, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you; I will help you;
I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand."
Joshua 1:9 Luke 1:30 Revelation 1:17
Honest Prayer Is Where
Deliverance Begins.
  • David didn't pretend he wasn't afraid
  • He sought the Lord with raw honesty
  • He ran to God with his fear — not away in shame
  • Deliverance begins with honest acknowledgment
  • You can't receive healing for a wound you won't admit
Hebrew Word Study
DARASH
to seek earnestly · to pursue · to inquire diligently
  • David didn't casually mention his fear to God
  • He pressed in — he pursued God in the middle of fear
  • Application: Seek Him earnestly, not just conveniently
David's Praise
Came From His Pain.
  • David wrote Psalm 34 while fleeing for his life
  • He was hiding, pretending, and afraid
  • Yet from that place he declared: "I sought the Lord"
  • His praise came out of his pain — and God responded
Philippians 4 : 6–7 "Present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."

Reflection Moment
What Fear Have You
Been Hiding?
What fear has lived quietly in your chest?
What fear wakes you up at 3am?
What fear have you been carrying that you've never named out loud?
This is a space of honesty — not performance.
Returning to Our Anchor · Psalm 34 : 4
"I sought the Lord, and He answered me
and rescued me from ALL my fears."
Not some. Not most.
ALL.   God's answer is complete and total deliverance.
You are not too far gone. You are not too afraid.
You are exactly who He is looking for.
Call to Action
Will You Seek Him
Today?
The same God who answered David will answer you.
Bring your honest fear to Him — right now.
The Fear Card Exercise Write one fear you've never named out loud. Place it in the basket. We pray over them together:
"Lord, these fears are real. We bring them out of hiding and into Your light. We seek You. Now deliver us."
