God Speaks to the Settled
They never told God no. They said “not yet” — for sixteen years. And sixteen years of “not yet” builds exactly as much Temple as sixteen years of “no.” Zero.

- Not a materials problem — a sequence problem
God Stirs the Willing
Not “they found their motivation.” Not “they got their act together.” The Lord sparked it. And watch the order: they obeyed in v.12, and the fire came in v.14. Obedience came first.

God Shows Up for the Working
Sixteen years of silence, and God’s first sentence isn’t a lecture — it’s “I am with you.” Spoken on day one, when there was nothing to show but a decision.

- His presence isn’t the trophy at the end
- It’s the equipment issued at the start

- What has a foundation in your life and no walls on it?
- What are you finishing that God never asked you to start?
- Where have you been waiting to feel something before you do something?
- God’s first words to a stalled people were “I am with you” — not a lecture about the wasted years. Is that the God you actually picture when you pray?

Jesus, I’m done pretending I can build this myself. I’ve been telling You “later” — and I’m sorry. I believe You died for me and God raised You from the dead. Today I’m giving You the rubble and I’m giving You the rest of my life. Be my Savior. Be my King. Spark something in me that I could never spark in myself. I’m Yours. Amen.
